Urgent update: SOS 4.0 grantees must transition from GPRA to new SUPRT effective October 1.

September 19th, 2025

*New* SUPRT

During the SOS quarterly monitoring calls on 9/15 and 16, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) shared that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is launching new data collection tools, the SAMHSA Unified Performance Reporting Tools (SUPRT) on October 1, 2025. The new SUPRT will replace the GPRA data collection tool and the GPRA will no longer be used. To prepare for the transition, all GPRA data that has been collected must be entered into iPortal by 3:00 PM Eastern September 29, 2025.

SAMHSA has shared preliminary versions of the SUPRT data collection tools, which can be found here: OhioSOSEvaluation.org Resources. Please note: SAMHSA has not issued guidance regarding administration of the SUPRT tools, including timing, eligibility, transition from GPRA to SUPRT for follow-up interviews, etc.

The GRC SOS Evaluation Team and OhioMHAS are working together to update data collection guidance, resources, and training. We are still waiting for additional guidance from SAMHSA and ask for your patience during this transition.

To stay up to date on implementing the new tool, all SOS 4.0 grantees should:

  • Add the SOSEval@osumc.edu email address to your contacts. We plan to send weekly communications during this transition.
  • Bookmark and check the SOS evaluation website: www.SOSevaluation.org. We plan to share the new tools, associated resources, and an updated training schedule once we have more details.
  • The GRC Evaluation Team will begin sending email communication through the Constant Contact planform. Please check your inboxes regularly (including your spam folder) to receive these important updates. Please share the sign-up form with your colleagues who may also want to stay up to date on all SOS 4.0 news.

Please reach out to the Ohio SOS Evaluation team with any GPRA data collection questions at SOSEval@osumc.edu.
